Obituary

Longtime Aberdeen resident Alan James Leggett died peacefully on March 28, 2024. He was born January 9, 1946 in Seattle, Washington.

Alan spent his working years as an Automotive Machinist, and was a proud member of Machinists Local 289. He was always looking for a new project to challenge his abilities, and spent many hours helping his family, friends, and neighbors keep their cars in working order.

A loving husband and father, Alan enjoyed fishing and camping with his family. He also enjoyed taking part in the GH "Rocks" rock painting and hiding movement. Over 3000 rocks with his artwork have been shared throughout the US and abroad, some as far as Netherlands, Germany, and Japan.

Alan was a longtime member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church. He volunteered at Feed the Hungry for many years, the Liturgy Committee and many other functions. His handiwork can be found in several places around the church facility.

Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Louise Leggett, and by his sisters Marilyn (Lipps) and Nancy (Grenell). He is survived by Barbara, his wife of 56 years, son Albert, daughter Donna (MacDonald), 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be at St. Marys Catholic Church in Aberdeen, WA at 11:30 on April 23, 2024, preceded by the rosary at 11:00.
