Obituary

On September 17th, Cindy (Lorton) Stone, a 55 year old resident of Hoquiam, a bright light, a shining soul, a wife, a mother, a sister and friend-to-all, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by love after a courageous battle with cancer. Cindy was born July 6, 1967 to Robert and Elizabeth Lorton. She lived her childhood in the South Bend- Bay area, cartwheeling through the yards and spending time camping and fishing with her dad and siblings. As a little girl, she was independent, sassy, with a huge heart as big as her smile and a lover of all animals. These traits followed her into adulthood. Cindy fell in love in 1984, with the birth of her first son Ric, then again in 1990, when her son Kyle was born, both with her longtime partner Rick Gaddis Sr. Cindy was an amazing mother and bragged about her sons any chance she could. In 2007, she met and married the love of her life, her husband Mitch Stone who stood by her side through everything and together they blended families into one and created a beautiful life. Mitch was by her side through it all and held her hand as she slipped from this world. To know Cindy was to love her, she was best known for her mega-watt smile, sense of humor and the way she loved with everything she had. Flowers were her favorite, she loved her tomato plants and gardening was a passion of hers. For 22 years, Cindy was a faithful and hardworking EVS Tech at our local hospital and it was here that she met some of her very best friends. She loved practical jokes, cooking, camping, music, spending time with those she loved and had a heart made of gold. Cindy was preceded in death by her mother, father and brother, Rob. She is survived by her loving husband Mitch and their fur babies Ben and Jett, her sons Ric (Nikki) Gaddis, her son Kyle (Natasha) Gaddis, her stepchildren Kaycee (Joshua) Snapp and Cody (Melissa) Stone. She is also survived by her sister, Tina Chambers and brothers Jessie Hjelm and Lawrence (Mike) Lorton. Being grandma was her absolute favorite title and loved to spend time creating memories with her grandbabies. Cindy doted on the lights of her lives, her pride and joys, her grandchildren Audree, Annika, Meadow Gaddis and Colt Snapp. Cindy fought hard to stay on Earth with her loved ones and spent a beautiful weekend prior to her passing with her husband, children and grandchildren at Seabrook, where memories were made that we will cherish forever. Cindy was a devout Christian woman. She left this world and entered the gates of heaven to meet her savior Jesus. She was gone much too soon, but became our guardian angel tending the gardens in Heaven and making it even more beautiful with her smile, soul and love for others.
