Daniel Raymond Shipley, born on December 13, 1943, in Missoula, Montana, passed away on June 16, 2026, in Montesano, Washington. He was a dedicated log truck driver for an impressive 57 years, working with Papac Logging, Lutton Logging, and Muller Logging companies. Daniel was known for his great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.

His life was marked by his honorable military service; Daniel joined the United States Army on October 13, 1961, and was honorably discharged on January 22, 1968, at Fort Hamilton, New York. Outside of his work and service, he enjoyed a variety of hobbies including working on cars, computers, race cars, fishing, and camping, passions that brought him much joy throughout his life.

Daniel leaves behind his beloved wife, Clara Shipley, and his children: Glen (and wife, Tammy) Raney of Elma, Washington; Tammy (and husband, Randy) Michel of Midland, Oregon; and Kristina Shipley of Missoula, Montana. He is also survived by a large and loving family of grandchildren—Cathy and Issac Jones, Tanya and Erik Thornton, Randy Michel Jr., Daniel and Ember Raney, Kaci and Jacob Hubbs, Andrew and Rae Raney, Mackenzie Raney, Cathy Caldwell, Sonny Dawson, Candace Miller, Nicole Shipley, and Jason Shipley. His legacy extends through 28 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Daniel was preceded in death by his son Walter Raney, daughter Marilyn Wilson, and brothers Wayne Mayley and Donnie Shipley.

Daniel Raymond Shipley will be remembered for his hard work, his commitment to family and country, and his joyful spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
