Darian De'Val Aikens, internationally known as Trey Holiday, passed away in Seattle Washington on August 9, 2023, at the age of 52. Darian was born in Chicago Illinois to Gene De'Val Aikens and Victoria Kirkpatrick. He was a beloved son, husband, brother, uncle, cousin, grandson, friend, and loved by all.
Darian is survived by his mother Victoria Kirkpatrick, Father Gene Aikens, Step-mother Debbie Aikens, wife Xiao Li, sisters Detria, Katie, and Naimah, brother Jean Paul, his cousins Brian, Miguel, and Monique, uncles Anthony and Michael, aunt Kathy and Maxine, grandmother Catherine, nieces Sophia, Jaida, Nia and nephew Noah, and a host of friends. He was preceded by sister Leah, brother James (BJ), aunts Renee, Marlana, and Rhonda, uncle Joe and grandmother Hortense.
Darian graduated from Cleveland High School in Seattle WA and was an honor graduate of The Art Institute of Seattle in 2007. He was an Author, Musician, Producer, Entrepreneur and owner of the Savvy Gourmet catering company, international executive chef for 31 years across China, Japan, Washington State, and Canada. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1991 and was honorably discharged in 1992.
Darian was passionate about cooking and music. He had his first guitar at 2 years of age and loved to play music with his dad Gene. He loved being in the kitchen with his mom and boy, did he love to eat. He was an international actor in China, a stand-up comedian, a musician, a producer in China and Japan, a teacher in China, and a culinary influencer.
His loving spirit and laughter will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
