Obituary

David Colón of Ocean Shores passed away at Harbor Regional Health in Aberdeen on January 31st, 2025 at the age of 76. He was born on April 22nd, 1948 to parents Victor Rodriguez and Evelyn (Tirado) Rodriguez. He served in the United States Marine Corps from June of 1966 to September 1969, doing a tour of duty in Vietnam and retiring as a corporal. He at-tended San Diego State University and later worked for the San Diego Police Department. On March 17th, 2004, he married Delin Graves in Eureka, California. He was previously married to Sheila (Johnson) Colón, with whom he shared two sons, Aaron David and Ethan Thomas Colón. David was a fine art photographer and received a number of awards in various juried exhibitions, including a published photo in Camera Arts magazine. He was also an exhibiting member of the Old Town Art Gallery in Eureka, California from 2004 to 2009, as well as showing his work at the Morris Graves Museum in Eureka. David's other passion was writing novels, as well as short stories. He published two novels (Anubis and The Choice) under the pen name of T.O. Bolseen. He was also an avid reader of history, especially the Civil War, World War II, and Vietnam. David owned many bibles and read scriptures daily. He also enjoyed serving on the Humboldt County Grand Jury for several years, which fulfilled his need to perform his civic duties. He was a faithful servant to God and to his country. But most of all, he loved his family and was a stellar father, husband, and friend.
David is survived by his loving wife, Delin (Linowitz) Colón; son Ethan Thomas Colón of San Diego, California; sister Irene Homeyer of Craig, Colorado; and his former wife Sheila Colón.
He is preceded in death by his parents Victor and Evelyn (Tirado) Rodriguez; son Aaron David Colón; and brother John Colón.
No services are planned at this time.
