David William Pickert was born on June 21, 1955 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Mavis May Aman and William Henry Pickert and died on August 12, 2024 at home in Star Lake.
He grew up in the Seattle area and attended Foster High School. He graduated from high school a semester early and went down to Las Vegas to stay with his half-sister for a while. Dave married Tedde Jalo on November 29, 1979. They were together for 16 years and had three children.
He had a history of working as a union laborer, most famously on the construction of the Satsop nuclear power plant, and as the maintenance supervisor at both Fir Lane in Shelton and at Shipwreck Beads in Lacey. He always liked to work with his hands.
He met Ivelisse (Evie) Dennis when they both worked at Shipwreck Beads around 2006. They spent 18 happy years of their lives together.
Dave enjoyed gardening throughout his life. He also enjoyed playing guitar and singing. Years ago he performed in local churches. He was a man of abiding Christian faith.
He was preceded in death by his sister Nancy on September 5th, 1957, his father William H. Pickert on July 30, 1975, his stepfather Ray Carpenter on December 23, 2012, and his mother Mavis (Aman) Carpenter on March 5, 2019. He is survived by his son, William, daughter Felicia, and daughter Hannah and son-in-law Austin. He was the proud grandfather of two grandchildren.
His celebration of life will be held at 1pm on August 24, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Elma at 600 W. Main Street.
