Former Aberdeen resident, Delores Ann (Gudaz) Peterson, passed away at Panorama Retirement Community in Lacey on February 1, 2025 at the age of 87. She was born on December 31, 1937 in Aberdeen to parents Andy Victor Gudaz and Clara Donna (Catino) Gudaz. She married Melvin Emil Peterson on April 12, 1957 in Aberdeen. She was a graduate of Aberdeen High School and worked for Evan's Plywood and Anderson & Middleton Lumber Company, as well as the Aberdeen School District. Delores loved gardening, cooking and baking, and travelling, especially to Mexico, Europe, and Hawaii.
She is survived by her son Gordon A. Peterson of Lacey; brother Daniel Gudaz of Tumwater; lifelong friend Dianne "Frannie" Enkerud; grandchildren Traci, Kristi, Michael, Annika Peterson, and Alyssa Alexander; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Melvin Peterson; parents Andy and Clara Gudaz; son Ronald G. Peterson; and sister Andrienne Stevens.
Donations can be made in memory of Delores to the Cosmopolis Fire Department.
Graveside services will take place at the Forrest Hill Cemetery in Cosmopolis.
