Elizabeth "Betty" Burnham passed away at the family home on May 22, 2024. She was born in Tacoma WA to parents Orly and Ivy Hammar. One of 13 siblings, she graduated from Lincoln High School in 1953. She served in the Army from 1954-1955. She married John Moorman and had four children Janice (Jon) Rodriguez, Joyce Moorman, Judy (Gary) Mawhorter, and John Moorman. The family moved to Satsop WA in 1972. She remarried in 1982 to Ellis "Jim" Burnham who proceeded her in death in 2013. Besides her four children, Betty is also survived by four grandchildren Joshua (Brooke) Rodriguez, Greggory (Kindra) Moorman, Joey (Lauren) Rodriguez and Jenna (Drew) Heath as well as five great grandchildren and her beloved Elma.
Betty's working career was spent as a cook in several restaurants and she finished her career at the Beehive in Montesano when she retired in 1984.
Betty was an avid traveler, traveling all across the US with her husband Jim in their Lindy motor home. She also served as a tour guide for Discovery Tours and Freedom Tours traveling across the globe with them. She especially loved cruises. She did volunteer work at Grays Harbor Community Hospital, and was a Master Gardener. She was an avid pinochle player, gardener, baker and loved tole painting, crossword puzzles and knitting.
