Erik S. Moe went home to his Lord and Savior surrounded by family, on August 21, 2023. Erik was born on April 11, 1939, in Elma, WA to Fredrik and Edna Moe. Erik was raised in Oakville, WA, and graduated from Oakville High School in 1957. He then bought a farm right out of high school and managed it his entire life. He lived in many other places including Chehalis, Clearwater, Randle, Morton, and Ellensburg, WA.
Erik spent most of his life as a Timber Operations Manager for Fred B. Moe Logging from 1959 up until the company closed in 2002. Erik married Helen Osbekoff in 1960, and they later divorced. On January 1st, 1980 he married Susan Hines in Centralia, WA. Erik enjoyed 4H during his childhood which he passed to his children. He cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren, especially if it meant he was taking them out in his orange jeep. He loved his dog, Sissy, and was always doing things on the farm with hay and livestock. He was a workaholic but would break away for yearly anniversary trips to Hawaii or Reno, as well as many July 4ths spent in Oakville parades or Seaside, OR.
Erik was preceded in death by his parents Fredrik and Edna Moe; brothers Fredrik B. Moe and John Moe; sister Edelyn Moe; sister-in-laws Joylene Moe and Myrna Moe and a great-grandson Carter Allen Sharp-Cole.
He is survived by his wife Susan Moe who resides at the Family home in Oakville, WA; son Roy (Becky) Moe of Montesano, WA, and step-son Mark Hines of Boistfort, WA; daughters Lori (Terry) Florence of Montesano, WA, Rhonda (Carl) Moe-Nish of California, Kellie (Jon) Sharp of Oakville, WA, Alejandra (James) Button of Oakville, WA; step-daughters Sheryl Rogers (widowed) of Chehalis, WA, Emily (William) Rodocker of Oakville, WA, and Jamie (Tracy) Peterson of North River, WA; brother Rolfe Moe of Olympia, WA; sisters Sonja Roderick of Edmonds, WA, and Kristie (Ed) Danzer of Tenino, WA; and more than 30 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 1st, 2023 at Oakville Assembly of God in Oakville, WA, followed by a service at 1:00 p.m.. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 5th, 2023 at Oakville Cemetery at 2 p.m.
