Aberdeen resident, Faye Oneda Stringer, passed away at Grays Harbor Health and Rehab on May 14, 2026 at the age of 102.

Faye was born on September 26, 1923, in Havana, Arkansas, to parents Leonard R. Scarbrough and I. Oder Hood. On April 10, 1943, she married James Aubrey Stringer, Sr. in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The couple later relocated to Anaheim, California and resided there from 1973 to 2016 before moving to the Grays Harbor area in July of 2016. Together, they raised two wonderful children, James and Pamela. In her spare time, Faye enjoyed gardening, gambling at the local casinos, and going on vacation cruises.

Faye is survived by her son James Stringer of Aberdeen; daughter Pamela (Daryl) Collier of Aberdeen; grandson Michael (Rachel) Collier of Covington, Washington; granddaughter Joy (Ron) Waterhouse of Aberdeen; and two great grandchildren, Trinity Collier of Seattle and Ethan Collier of Shoreline, Washington.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Stringer, Sr., and her parents, Leonard and Oder.

She will be laid to rest at the Westminster Memorial Park in Westminster, California.
