Gloria Annette Shelton was born on June 19, 1933, to Ida Omen Eager and Dorman Eager in Naselle, Washington. On July 21, 2022, Gloria peacefully passed away in the Gulke Manor Adult Family Home which had treated her with endless amounts of love and support. She was raised by her parents Ida and Walter McDougall alongside 5 brothers, Oscar, Russell, Dorman, Glen, and Byron. She graduated from Lake Quinault Highschool in 1951 where she met and married Clarence J. Shelton (Junior). Together they raised their children Craig, Roxanne, and Dale in Amanda Park, Washington. If you grew up in Lake Quinault, chances are Gloria taught you how to swim in the glacier-fed lake, as she taught swim lessons to many. As well as teaching swimming, Gloria was a para-educator and bus driver for the Lake Quinault school district. In addition, she was a volunteer EMT for the Quinault fire department. Gloria was not only a mother to her 3 children but to whoever walked through her open doors of their welcoming home. Gloria was a bus driver for many districts in Grays Harbor following the lake. After her husband's retirement, she and Junior moved to Brinnon, Washington on the Hood Canal. She continued her school bus driving career in Brinnon next to her daughter Roxanne who followed in Gloria's footsteps. There she was involved with multiple clubs and organizations, one being the Docey Ducks. Gloria enjoyed spending time with family/friends. Shrimping season was a favorite of hers since it meant she could sit on her deck and watch the boat traffic coming in and out of the harbor surrounded by the people she loved most. Most of all Gloria enjoyed life, she left an impact on everyone who knew her.

Gloria is survived by her children, Craig Shelton of Chinook, Roxanne (Duayne) Slimp of Brinnon, and Dale (Deanna) Shelton of Montesano. Grandchildren Tasha (Jeff) Robinson, Dustin (Krystal) Slimp, Zale (Kristen) Crawford, and Sonia (Jeff) Martin. Great grandchildren, Olivia & Lainey Robinson, Makena & Payton Slimp, Sam & Charlie Crawford, and Lydia & Connor Martin. Brothers, Oscar (Evelyn) Eager, Byron (Sharon) Eager, and numerous nieces and nephews. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, Russell Eager, Dorman Eager, and Glen Eager.
