Obituary

Longtime resident Harry E. Eaton, 86, passed away on July 4th at Grays Harbor Health and Rehabilitation. He was born to Harley and Leona Eaton on May 16, 1939.

Harry graduated from Weatherwax High School in the class of 1958, where he served as the school projector operator and even received a trophy for his work.

After graduation, Harry joined the Navy, serving two years of Naval Reserves from 1956 to 1962. He was honorably discharged.

Harry went on to work for Boeing in Seattle, where he worked on airplanes for two years before layoffs brought him back home.

In 1964, Harry met the love of his life, Joanne Zarevich, and the two were married on November 7, 1964. They celebrated 60 wonderful years together with family and friends, building a beautiful life and raising a daughter, a son, and three grandsons.

Harry worked at the Aberdeen Plywood Mill and later Evans Plywood. He eventually got on at ITT Rayonier in the forestry department, working alongside his best friends Dave Amer and Don Stubb, who taught him a great deal. Harry spent much of his time weighing log trucks and working with heavy equipment. He retired after 15 years when the mill shut down. Afterward, he went on to work at the Aberdeen Post Office as a maintenance man until his retirement in 2001.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Joanne, his brother Kenneth (Mary) Eaton, his daughter Janet, his son Eric, and his three grandsons: Jared (fiancée Morgan Dalhymple), Jayce (girlfriend Madegan Messamore), and Jax Eaton.

Harry's family meant everything to him, and he loved them all deeply.

A celebration of his life will be held on September 6th from 1–4 p.m. at 203 S. Washington St. in Aberdeen, with a potluck immediately following.

Harry had a special love for his cats, Me-o, Micky, and Angel—Angel passed away just 10 days after Harry did.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Paws in his name.

Harry will be dearly missed by all his friends and family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Harrison Family Mortuary.
