Guilynn Harke passed June 9, 2026, peacefully in her sleep at 90 years old. The celebration of her life will be October 10, 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Aberdeen Elks, 1712 S.Boone St., Aberdeen, WA 98520. Family and friends are welcome to share memories.
Guilynn was born in Missoula, Montana. Her parents moved the family to Grays Harbor when she was five years old then the family moved to Cosmopolis where she spent her childhood, married, and raised her family. She was a loving wife, mom,grandmother, and great grandmother.
Guilynn is preceded in death by her brother, her husband of 52 years, and her middle son.
She is survived by her three sisters, daughter, and oldest son, six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Her focus in life was supporting family and friends. She enjoyed cheer leading as a student at Miller Junior High which she extended to her many years working at Hopkins Junior High where she was a volunteer advisor for the cheer leaders.After graduating from Weatherwax High School in 1954, she organized her high school class reunions with the support of her friends for the next 60 years.
Guilynn’s career spanned many years. She spoke fondly of working at the D&R theater for three years while attending high school. After graduation she worked at the Daily World in the circulation department. She met her husband and raised their three children by being an active parent supporting them in school, being a room Mother,Brownie, and Cub Scout leader. She eventually went back to work starting at the Cosmopolis Library, then the Aberdeen school district for 25 years until she retired. She and her husband enjoyed travel in their retirement, including cruises, and road trips with friends and family.
