James "Jim" Wayman Ramey Jr., 69, passed away at his home in Aberdeen, Washington on August 15, 2025. He was born January 30, 1956, in Aberdeen, to James W. Ramey Sr. and Jessie Elizabeth (Burns) Ramey.

Jim grew up in Tacoma, Washington, and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1974. Shortly after, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served as an Airman First Class. He trained as an Aircraft Loadmaster and Cargo Agent, completing assignments that took him across the country and overseas. He received an honorable discharge in 1975.

After his military service, Jim built a long and steady career as a meat cutter, proudly working over 45 years as a member of the labor union. Known for his hard work and dedication, he also developed strong friendships throughout his trade.

Beyond his work, Jim lived a full and colorful life. He was active in the Rabbit Club of Tacoma, raising rabbits and even a beloved horse named Dixie, who became a neighborhood favorite at local kids' birthday parties. He enjoyed simple pleasures, like his hobbies and the company of family and friends.

Jim is survived by his life partner, June Evans of Aberdeen; stepdaughters Doris Sisk of Cosmopolis and Billie-Ann Perryman of Ocean City; step-granddaughters Ashley Heiny of Montesano, Paige White of Elma, and Jade Parnel of Aberdeen; and one step-great-granddaughter, Charlie White of Shelton. He is also survived by sisters Jeanna Marie Ramey Sibbert and Jackie Louise Ramey McCullagh; his brother-in-law Bob Collins of Montesano; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gene Edward Emry, Lynn Ramey, and Willie May Ramey Collins, as well as his sister Julie May Ramey Collins.

Jim will be remembered as a hardworking man with a generous heart who loved his family deeply.

A military service and interment of ashes will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
