Jeffrey Paul Howell passed away at his home in Montesano on January 22nd, 2025 at the age of 68. He was born on October 1st, 1956 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to parents Robert Eugene Howell and Elizabeth Margaret (Ayala) Howell. He attended Fort Dodge Senior High School and worked in the carpet and flooring industry for over 30 years in both Okoboji, Iowa and Escondido, California before retiring in Washington and performing odd jobs. Jeff loved being outdoors and was happiest when he was hunting, bird watching in the mornings from his patio, fishing, and foraging for mushrooms. He was a lover and collector of motorcycles and firearms. In his early days, he enjoyed riding and racing dirt bikes and was also a golden glove boxer. During his boxing career, Jeff met people he loved and talked about until the end of his days. He married Debra Westfall in April of 1975. They divorced several years later and in 1986, he joined with Tami Neavin.
Jeff is survived by his partner Tami Neavin; son, Justin Howell of Fort Dodge, Iowa; daughters Alicia Howell of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Linsey Howell of Fort Dodge, and Trista Neavin of Nashville, Tennessee; brothers Jack Howell of Montesano, Robert Howell, Jr. and Frank Howell both of Fort Dodge, Brent Howell of Escondido, California, and Bart Howell of Austin, Texas; sisters Shanna Johnson of Muskegon, Michigan and Barbara Bailey of Denver, Colorado; step-brothers Kevin Carlson of Phoenix, Arizona and Daniel Carlson of Indiana; step-sister Christine King of Fort Dodge; as well as seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elizabeth (Ayala) Howell; brother Greg Howell; and three sisters, Vera Howell, Tina Heaphy, and Angela Howell.
Memorial services will be planned and announced at a later date.
