On Wednesday January 17th, 2024 Jerry Shapansky passed away from a brief battle with cancer. He leaves behind his wife Diane of 57 years; two children, daughter Sally Shapansky and son Jerry Shapansky II; grandsons Ian (Misty) Peyton, Jerry Shapansky III, and granddaughter Keyaira Peyton; two great grandchildren Emma and Wyatt Peyton; sisters Carol (Les) Ritcheson, Iona Bristow, and brother Joe (Cathy) Shapansky. He has gone to join his parents and granddaughter Brea but we will miss him greatly.

Jerry worked in the logging industry for many years and at one time owned his own business running heavy equipment and building logging roads. He enjoyed making Polish sausages, wood working, watching sports, going to the Casino with his sister, and spending time with his family and friends. His greatest joy was Friday night family dinners. Jerry's main passion was giving back to the community. He served 30 years with the Cosmopolis Volunteer Fire Dept, and was an active member with the Cosmopolis Lions Club for 22 years, he also was a life member at the Polish Club.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday February 24th at the Cosmopolis Lions Club from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
