John, youngest son of Alfred and Katherine Anderson, was preceded in death by both parents, brother Alfred and sister Ann Anderson. John is survived by his dear cousin, Mrs. Mary Ruby of California.

Always hardworking even as a youth, John began two paper routes in McCleary, worked in the McCleary drugstore/soda fountain and then for the McCleary Post Office. As a teen, he began a career at Simpson Door Plant. He worked there until his retirement.

John was known for his generosity, kindness to others and his love of storytelling. He had a huge, generous heart and helped many elderly and many in need. He was an active lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Elma Grange. John was a beloved son, brother, cousin and friend to all.

Visitation/Rosary will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, at Harrison Mortuary in Aberdeen. The funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday, Sept 18, at 11 a.m. with a reception and burial following.
