John Karl Kor passed away on May 9th, 2022. He was born to Johnnie Kor and Katherine Lemmer on July 29th, 1951 in Brookings, South Dakota. John was raised in Vancouver, Washington, and graduated from the Evergreen High School class of 1969.
John was inducted into the military on November 16th, 1970. He was honorably discharged on August 25th, 1972 with the Rank of Specialist 4 (E-4). He then transferred to Army Reserve. He completed his service on November 15th, 1976. He obtained the National Defense Service Medal and the Sharpshooter Badge (M-16). John was also a member of the Patriot Guard Riders since the early 2000s.
John worked for Fred Meyer grocery chain for 47 years before retirement.
He enjoyed traveling in his motorhome, fishing, riding motorcycles, family time, and helping others.
John is survived by his sons Brian Kor of Gresham, OR, and Matthew Murphy of Beaverton, OR; daughters Jennifer Olszewski of Oregon City, OR, Stephanie Bosch of Gladstone, OR, and Laura Kor of St. Helens, OR; brothers Robert Kor of Camas, WA, Allan Kor of Milwaukie, OR, and Larry Kor of Vancouver, WA; sisters Karen Peck of Newburgh, IN and Teresa Stamper of Long Beach, WA; grandchildren Cougin and Macie Olszewski of Oregon City, OR, and Elijah Karl Kor of Gresham, OR. He is preceded in death by both his parents and brother Louis Kor.
