Kathleen Cortez

Kathleen Belle Cortez (née Lovegren), beloved spouse, mother, grandmother, and U. S. Army veteran, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on May 31, 2026, at the age of 60, leaving behind a loss deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.

For 42 years, she was a devoted and loving spouse, faithful through every season of life. She lived with extraordinary resilience, unwavering loyalty, and a superior work ethic. Kathleen possessed a rare ability to find beauty even in life’s harshest places, offering warmth, compassion, and care wherever she went. At the center of her world was her family, loved fiercely and completely.

She found joy in the quiet, meaningful parts of life: caring for animals, especially her beloved cats; tending to her homestead; losing herself in books; and learning something new each day. She had a gift for making even ordinary moments feel full of life and she could make any place feel like home. She moved through the world with both strength and gentleness, leaving others feeling understood, protected, and deeply loved.

Kathleen was a loving mother to four daughters and a cherished grandmother to three grandsons and one granddaughter. She also leaves behind extended family members, dear friends, and countless others whose lives were forever touched by her kindness and unwavering devotion.

Though her passing came far too soon, the love she gave so freely remains woven into the lives of those she leaves behind. She will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered always.
