Kathleen Claire Hancock
July 27, 1968 ~ October 5, 2025 (age 57)
Kathleen Claire Hancock passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 5 th ,
2025. She is together now in the afterlife with her mother Nora, Aunt Mary,
and grandmother Lillian. She is survived by her loving husband Dan, and
cousins Kevin and Debra Connolly, and Michael Connolly. She fought
cancer bravely for 2 years, before finally succumbing. She was strong,
multi-talented, free-spirited, incredibly funny, and passionate about animal
rights.
Born in Los Angeles, California, she was raised in the Beverly-Wilshire
area where she studied ballet as a child. She continued dancing well into
her 20's. She attended the CEDU school in Running Springs, graduating in
1986, and briefly attended Loyola Marymount College before entering the
workforce as an accountant. She worked for insurance companies, ad
agencies, and various post-production facilities in the entertainment
industry. It was in one of these places she met her future husband, Dan, in
September 1996. They were married in Brentwood on June 17 th , 2000, and
remained happily together for the next 25 years.
In 2001 they relocated to the Santa Cruz Mountains and enjoyed 22 years
amongst the redwoods. During this time, she worked as an accountant for
Bonny Doon Vineyards, before changing vocations and following her heart
into professional astrology and Tarot readings at Avalon Visions in Soquel.
She also did readings and sold home-made scented candles at various
Renaissance and Celtic Faires throughout Northern California. After a
lifelong dream trip to Ireland in 2019, she was inspired to try her hand at
Irish-themed jewelry making, at which she also excelled. She was also a
dedicated practitioner of Celtic Wicca and Zen Buddhism.
She and Dan relocated to Ocean Shores, Washington, in August 2023. But
within 3 months of moving she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.
She spent nearly 2 years in treatment before it claimed her life on Sunday,
October 5 th , 2025. She will be missed terribly by all who knew and loved
her.
