Obituary

Larry Gene McCormick of Hoquiam passed away at his home on
Sunday, July 21, 2024. He was 84. Larry was born November 12, 1939
in Algona, Washington to William and Lillian (Breedlove) McCormick.
Larry was raised in Hoquiam and graduated from Hoquiam High School
in 1957. Larry worked for ITT Rayonier until it closed in 1993. He
earned his CDL at Grays Harbor College in 1995 and drove log truck for
a while before retiring.
Larry married Patricia Ann Sorenson. She survives him at the family
home.
Larry used to golf in Quinault, he had more fun looking for balls than
golfing. He took great pride in his property and his family. He spent
many summers with his family camping and skiing. He loved his
grandkids and if there was a little one anywhere nearby, they gravitated
to him. Most of the picture's family has are with him holding kids, or
talking to critters. He loved all animals and anything nature. He is
known for his strength and for being stubborn, but he is also known for
how much he loved his wife, his kids and his grandkids. He will be
missed.
In addition to his loving wife Patricia, he is survived by four daughters
Suz Butcher of Satsop, Nancy -Lebon of Hoquiam, Amy Crass of
Montesano and Debbie Evans of Hoquiam; son Dale McCormick of Fall
City, WA; brother Ralph "Buzz" McCormick of Copalis Crossing; 16
grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by
his son Ronald McCormick, sister Betty Lou Dey and brother We
McCormick.
