Laurence “Larry” Joseph Gjerstad, passed away peacefully at his home in Ocean Shores, Washington, on September 8, 2026. He was 68 years old.

Larry was born on January 16, 1958, in Seattle, WA, to Milliard & Phyllis Gjerstad. He spent much of his life in the Pacific Northwest and also lived in Port Orchard and California before making his home in Ocean Shores.

Larry attended Washington State University, where he studied horticulture and later took courses for the automotive industry. He later worked for Gilmore Automotive in Ballard, WA, dedicating many years to his career before retiring in 2010.

On January 12, 2013, Larry married Joseph L. Kacinec in Seattle. Together they shared 29 meaningful years and eventually made their home in Ocean Shores.

Laurence is survived by his spouse of 13 years, Joseph L. Kacinec; brothers, Joe and Pete Gjerstad; and his extended family, including several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Milliard and Phyllis Gjerstad, brother Michael Gjerstad and sisters Beth Wylie and Mary Ramsey.
