Leatha Priscilla Ruchty passed away in Elma, Washington on October 27, 2025 at the
age of 75. She was born on December 20, 1949 in Odessa, Texas, to parents Elton
Robert Teague and Miltha Milvana Thomas. She married John Willard Ruchty in
Wenatchee on July 4, 1991.
Leatha loved sewing and quilting and even had an Ebay store where she sold custom
made items, until she was diagnosed with cancer. She began working in the sewing
industry when she was a teenager and retired as a plant manager at Gregory Mountain
Products in 2012. She had also worked for Bianchi and Jansport and travelled all over
the world as a consultant for new sewing plants.
Leatha is survived by her sons Brendon Anderson of Marysville, Washington, Barry
Ruchty of Gold Canyon, Arizona, and Rickn Ruchty of Hawaii; daughters Sonnya
Wilkins of Elma, Bonni Ruchty of Bothell, and Lin Ruchty of Arizona; and nine beloved
grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Ruchty; parents Elton and Miltha
Teague; brother Elton Teague; and her sisters Sherri and Mildred Probst.
