Obituary

Ray Dale Simpson, Sr., aka "Kookie", passed away at his home in Rainier, Washington on April 12th, 2024. He was 79 years old.
Kookie was born on December 27th, 1944 in Vancouver, Washington to parents Charles Wilbur Simpson and Bessie Marie Hoover. He was first married to Claudia Simpson, then Dorothy Price, subsequently. Later on, he married Mary (Samson) Simpson. He worked in the construction industry as a professional painter in Aberdeen for many years. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. But his biggest joy in life was his family. Kookie loved putting together family gatherings and spending quality time with his loved ones. He was known for his comedic personality and will be dearly missed by so many.
Kookie is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Simpson and Bessie Hoover; brothers, Leonard Simpson of Hoquiam; Roy Simpson; Bob Simpson of Seattle; and Harry Simpson of Aberdeen; Sisters, Letha Simpson -Spencer and Leah Simpson of Washington.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Simpson of Rainier, Washington; Sons Ray Dale Simpson, Jr. of Centralia; Jason Dale Bush of Tenino, Travis Ray Simpson of Spokane; daughters Rhonda Simpson of Glendale, Arizona and Renee Simpson of Phoenix, Arizona; sisters Barb Simpson; Dixie Lynch-Norton; and Bonnie Rouska; grandchildren Betony Simpson; James Simpson; Christopher Simpson; Kierra Simpson; Dana Simpson; Jorden France; and Cody France; and great-grandchildren Jimmy, Jade, Kaylie, Aiden, Skylar, Zachary, Irie, Leia, Mason, Jakob, Kali, Luna, Lincoln, Owen, and Madelyn.
No services are planned at this time.
Cremation arrangements are under the care of Harrison Family Mortuary.
