Robert "Chenango" Warner Blake passed away at his home in Ocean Shores on January 25th, 2025, at the age of 79. He was born on September 28th, 1945 in Manhattan, New York to parents Benjamine Charles Blake and Frances Josephine (Weiss) Blake. He was a 1963 graduate of New Rochelle High School and served in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1969 at the Stewart Air Force Base in New York. On February 10th, 2019 he married Linda Louise Hoffman in Guilford, New York. Robert worked as a commercial artist for several New York ad agencies before leaving the industry to operate Beingkind, Inc., an animal rescue and adoption service. (He personally rescued over 400 dogs while in New York!) He also wrote and published two books and was a talented wood worker. He was also a student of Paleo-Hebrew and Messianic believer.
Robert is survived by his wife, Linda Louise (Hoffman) Blake; step-son Christopher Hickling of Ocean Shores; step-daughter Carolyn Bennett of Enumclaw; and sister Elizabeth Comolli of Connecticut.
He is preceded in death by his parents Benjamine and Frances (Weiss) Blake.
A private burial will take place at Tahoma National Cemetery on February 10th, 2025.
