Obituary

Aberdeen resident, Robert "Bob" Dale Sayre, passed away at Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma, Washington on April 8, 2025. He was 68 years old. Bob was born on March 22, 1957, in Akron, Ohio, to parents Earl "Norm" Norman and Katherine (Pursley) Fritter. He graduated from Lakeland High School in 1975 and then joined the United States Navy later that year. He was honorably discharged on November 6, 1981, but then re-enlisted on July 9, 1985 before retiring from the military for good on July 8, 1991.
Bob married Kathleen Lawver in Deersville, Ohio, on September 11, 1976. They raised three children together; Timothy, Joesph, and Christine. The family moved to the Grays Harbor area in January of 1996, where Bob worked as an automotive mechanic.
Bob enjoyed many different hobbies including writing, gardening, and playing the guitar. He was a man of God who showed his love and devotion through prayer and attending church for worship. He loved ushering with his buddies and served the church in any way he was able.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen "Kathy" (Lawver) Sayre; daughter, Christine "Christy" Schmauss (husband, Wil) and their children, Seth, Zach (wife, Lynnsey), and Abbie, all of Aberdeen; sons, Timothy "Tim" Sayre (wife, Becky), and their children, Ashton and Olivia, all of Aberdeen, and Joseph "Joe" Sayre of Perth, Australia; brothers, George Sayre and Sandy Sayre; and sisters, Frances Sullivan and Katie Glazer.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl Norman and Katherine (Pursley) Fritter; and his brother, Bryan Sayre.
The family has chosen to honor Bob in a private manner and they encourage those that loved him to do the same. There will not be a public service.
One thing the family is certain of- Bob would want this to be said:
'Don't take your time here for granted. Forgive one another. Live well. Love deeply. And, most importantly, if you don't know Jesus or have the assurance of where you will be after this life, please seek out someone who can point you to him. He is our hope and our salvation.'

Arrangements have been entrusted to Harrison Family Mortuary.
