On March 3, 2023, Helen Ruth Valentine was received into the arms of Jesus her Savior in a quick and quiet moment with her daughter by her side. Ruth was born in Bird City, Kansas where she lived until she was a teenager. She then came out to Montesano to stay with her brother and met and married the love of her life Gerald (Gov) Valentine, who she was married to for 61 years. Ruth loved being with her family, playing cards, dice, doing crossword puzzles, Sudoku, word searches, and putting puzzles together. She also loved her daily visit from her special family members Ken, Tom, and Mary. Her life blessed many people in many different ways. Every person she met was her favorite at the moment and every job she had was her favorite at the time. Ruth drove school bus for many years and every kid who rode her bus she thought of as her own. She loved her Montesano Church of God family where she attended church for over 65 years.
She is survived by her daughter Louise and Mike Murphy. Grandchildren Rumona Pehl, Rugena and Jayson Peterson. Great-grandchildren Baylee, DJ, Austin, Colbey, Ashlyn, and Alyson. Ruth also loved her bonus grandchildren Colleen, Connie, Chris, Carmella, Craig, Michael, and Janell. Great-great-grandchildren Ella, Maddie, Brayden, Ziramae, Irie, Michael, Darin, and Zachary. Ruth is survived by her siblings Nola, Shirley, and Jack (Percy), and brother-in-law Jim (Janie) Valentine.
