Samm Eugene Smith, a resident of Aberdeen, passed away at the age of
67 on January 4, 2025 at St. Peter's Hospital in Lacey, WA after a brief
illness. Samm was born in Aberdeen on April 25, 1957 to parents Benn
M. Smith and Ann P Major.
He attended Hoquiam High School and went on to work at Hoquiam
Plywood for over 28 years. On September 25, 1997, he married Janel
Erickson in Cosmopolis. Samm spent his free time "tinkering" on cars
and working in the yard.
He is survived by his wife, Janel Erickson; son Sam Smith Jr.; sister Linda
(Bob) Balcombe of Hoquiam; niece Kelsey Lilananh and granddaughter
Roslyn. He is preceded in death by his parents Benn Smith and Ann
Major.
