Sharon Jeanne Peterson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family.

Sharon was born on August 28, 1941, in Spokane, Washington to George Wayne Marshall and Miriam Jean Vercler. In 1949, she moved with her sister Wendy and mother to Hoquiam, Washington, where she spent much of her life and became part of the community she loved.

Sharon was married to Gerald “Jerry” Peterson, with whom she shared many years of love and family memories. She was the proud mother of three sons: Gerald Peterson Jr., Tracy Peterson, and Gregg Peterson. Her family continued to grow to include five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who brought her tremendous joy and pride.

Sharon spent many years working at International Paper, staying until the mill closed. She then worked for Weyerhauser as the Special Projects manager until retirement.

Outside of work, Sharon had a creative and adventurous spirit. She was a talented quilter who enjoyed creating quilts and sharing her handiwork with others. She also enjoyed collecting, buying, and selling antiques, traveling with friends and family, and attending local and state fairs. She and Jerry shared a particular love of restoring classic cars and attending car shows, creating many special memories together along the way.

Sharon will be remembered for her creativity, her love of family, and the many interests and friendships that filled her life. She leaves behind a family who will carry her memory forward through the stories, traditions, and memories they shared.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Gerald “Jerry” Peterson; sons Gerald Peterson Jr., Tracy Peterson, and Gregg Peterson; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother Gary Davis; and sisters Wendy Forslin, Mary Dale, and Sue Olsen. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Joanne Davis.
