Obituary

Terrence (Terry) l. Timmons, age 79, a resident of Montesano, died on August 29, 2026, at Montesano Health & Rehab, after a lengthy battle with dementia. He was surrounded by his family, including his wife of 45 years who was also his caregiver.

Terry was born on October 9, 1946, to Leonard J. & Bernyce B. Timmons in Aberdeen, WA. He graduated in 1964 from Weatherwax High School and attended Grays Harbor College and then WWU for a year. He then went to work for Pay n Save as manager in the camera & electronic department. In the late 60’s he married Suzan Ranum. Together they had two children, Jeffrey and Cindy. During that time, Terry sold cars at Duane DeWees Datsun & Crosstown Motors. He and Suzan later divorced. On October 4th, 1980 Terry married Roberta Bridges and became stepdad to Gina & Dana. It was during that time he found his forever job at Crown Distributing. He advanced to Beer Sales Manager and won many awards as top salesman. He had a good disposition and was liked by everyone. He enjoyed the time he spent with customers and made friends easily. He was with the company until his retirement in 2002.

Terry & Roberta enjoyed working around their home, going to grand-kids sports, traveling to Reno, family get togethers, special holidays and in later years they made several trips to Wendover with friends Dave & Carol Wayman and Doug & Susan King. They also enjoyed going to the local casinos once a month and taking Roberta’s elderly stepdad, Rich. They bought a travel trailer and enjoyed camping with their two Beagles, Licorice & Bailey. They later adopted their beautiful Husky Joey and then adopted their Husky Storm who resides at the family home.

Terry loved sports and played basketball and football, but his true love was baseball. He began playing at the age of nine in Little League, then Babe Ruth, and then high school. He was an outstanding pitcher and to this day he is known to be one of the best pitchers the Harbor ever had. His sister Susan said he could have gone on to something bigger; that’s sisterly love! In 1964, he received a note from his high school coach, Al Eklund, thanking Terry for his help in his first-year coaching and his good attitude. Terry kept that note all these years and at times I would see him reading it with a little twinkle in his eye. The note was incredibly special to him.

Terry also loved golf and went on many trips with his golf friends, many of them to Sequim. He would chuckle at how many of his friends were from “the other side, Hoquiam.” They also enjoyed getting together for poker parties and dinner outings with the wives. He was a loyal fan of the Seahawks, Mariners & Husky’s. In his younger years Terry enjoyed weekend hunting with his best friend Mike Melinkovich and Buzz Barr. Roberta fixed sandwiches and their favorite tater tot casserole, and they would drive to Wynooche Wildwood where Mike had a trailer and “hunt” for the weekend then back home ‘til the next trip. It was a good getaway for them.

Terry was a nice person to everyone he met. The first thing most people say that knew him was “he was such a nice man.” He was the happiest doing family things and man things with his friends. He was content with the life he had and did not need superficial things to make him happy. When he was no longer able to leave the house, he enjoyed watching game shows and drinking the protein shake boost.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard & Bernyce Timmons and his sister Sharon Davis. He is survived by his wife Roberta at their family home in Montesano; son Jeff (Trisha) Timmons, Aberdeen; daughter Cindy Timmons, Aberdeen; stepdaughter, Gina (Tom) Peebles, Elma; stepdaughter, Dana (Shane) Chapin, Cosmopolis, and grandchildren: Alexxi (Hannah) Timmons, Elma; Austin Timmons, Olympia; Gessica (Jason) Chase, Aberdeen; Alyssa (Kris) Kay, Elma; Vanessa (Jace) Bullington, Montesano; sister, Susan Timmons, Aberdeen; brother-in-law, Larry Davis, Olympia; 7 great grandchildren: Caysen & Parker Jo Timmons; Rylie, Kaiden & Jace Kay; and Kanon & Barrett Chase. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.
