Tonya Marie Bozak (Chaisson) passed away on April 10th, 2024. Tonya was born on February 4th, 1969 to John Chaisson and Beverly Peterson (Howard) in Aberdeen, Washington. Some of Tonya's favorite memories were of spending time gardening flowers and vegetables with her grandparents, William "Bill" and Lillian Howard in Central Park, Washington. She also loved getting wheelbarrow rides from her favorite uncle, Gary. Tonya loved to eat her grandmother's cooking, especially when she used vegetables that she picked from their garden. She also had fond memories of her time with her Aunt Sally.
Tonya's sons, Jobey Chaisson and Cody McKenna, were avid baseball players, from Pee-wee through Junior High and High School and she enjoyed going to the games to watch them play and meet all of their classmates.
Tonya worked as a nurse's aide for many years, caring for the elderly. She particularly loved working with patients affected by dementia. She had an uncanny ability to encourage even the most difficult patients to participate in group activities.
Tonya's greatest loves were her grandchildren, Cayden and Paxton. She loved spending as much time as she possibly could with them and entertaining them for hours with funny voices, ridiculous stories, dancing, singing, and hours of face time when she couldn't be there in person. She lived with Charles Collins for the last 16 years of her life at their home in Aberdeen. Tonya loved her dogs, Daisy Mae and Cash, who would go with her every time she left the house, including to her son's baseball games. She was always willing to help anyone she could, often providing food and personal time to her friends. She was always very generous, giving money to the homeless as often as she could.
Tonya will be very missed by all who knew her.
